Corked! Hot Plate

I always wanted to try crafts with Corks. Here is my first test. It was quite simple and inexpensive. I grabbed an old picture frame from a thrift store and some corks from my collection (Yes I enjoy my wine just as much as the next wino)

Materials

  1. Corks
  2. Old picture frame (just the frame)
  3. Hot Glue

Step 1- Clean up the frame

Remove any glass and backing. If it’s a wooden frame, sand it down and paint it a color you like. If it’s metal you can spray paint it a color you like. Do not use a plastic frame (it will melt!).

As you know, I’m a planner so I tried various ways of placing the cork into the frame. Once I found my desired layout, I was able to swiftly adhesive the corks to the frame.

Step 2- Glue the corks

Start in one corner- place glue in one corner and secure a cork in place. From there, continue to glue and add corks until the frame is filled.
